The Fastest Car in the World: SSC Ultimate Aero TT

This title was given to a lot of cars and now it goes to a small, but super fast car – SSC (that can be deciphered as Shelby Super Car). It was founded in Washington, but I has found info about it here.
So, SSC Ultimate Aero TT is not about luxury at all, this car is aimed to make you the King of the road and understand, that you are driving one of the fastest car in the world. Its design is slippery (I like its front view the most). SSC possesses a powerful engine (LS6, bumped to 6.3 L, it provides: astronomical output of 1,183 horsepower and torque of 1,094 lb-ft), 7-speed twin-clutch DSG gearbox, non-automated manual transmission, no electronics to help driver make his deal – driving.

Top speed of SSC Aero TT is 411.89 km/h and what is even more interesting, this record was achieved not at the speed-testing places, but at the usual closed road. The record is not officially recognized by Guinness but it will be!

Blue Devil – Corvette ZR-1

Sometimes cars are popular, sometimes not, sometimes cars are waited for and while waiting people are giving various nicknames to them. It is a story of the new 2009 Corvette ZR-1. This car is much spoken about and was called by car-lovers with the following names: the “Blue Devil”, the “Mako Shark”, the “Super Sport” and others. But, recently Motor Trend‘s Motor City Blogman – Todd Lassa, has dispelled the myths, the new cars will be called “ZR1″, according to him, it will appear at the annual Detroit Auto Show (this time 2008 in January) and hit the markets only in 2009.
So, looking at this car, we can remember a very famous proverb: “Appearance is deceitful!”, because from the 1st sight, it looks like a “usual” Z06 with a vinyl-clad hood. But, it is just a beginning. So, first of all, this Corvette ZR-1 posses a new motor LS9, it is supercharged, its powerplant is from 600 up to 650 horsepower and due to the forecasts it can run a 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Corvette possesses the 6.2 L V8 engine, also, it weighs less than his predecessor Z06. In order to increase the reliability of the car while driving, there was made a bigger spoiler, thus, the “Blue Devil” seems to be a rather balanced car. At the test drive the car had Michelin tires. It will cost approximately $100,000.
