GEM Introduces Peapod Car Prototype

In recent years electric cars become a talk of the town – we can enjoy them everywhere and of course the Peapod Mobility electric car is a cutie that we should mention here.

Gem Peapod

The Peapod can go 40 miles on a single eight-hour charge and its speed limit is 25 miles per hour. The car needs 6 hours to fully recharge its exhausted battery. The interior includes seating and an iPod dock, and everything is made from recycled and recyclable materials.

Frankly speaking I don’t particularly understand its main function, to drive you to your neighbor or to have a 5-minute-drive to the grocery store?

Gem Peapod

The car looks like it can be run over by a huge Jeep. I simply don’t understand why manufacturers create city and green cars not only small but funky and funny? Why they should put smiles on faces of people? Why not make a traditional car?

It's so true. The CVT (continuously variable transmission) operates smoothly with no jerking and having more speeds these days (6 as opposed to 3-5) means better gas mileage, too.
