Recently, BMW manufacturers has announced that they are going to release a new micro car in India. How their new car will look? This new concept will resemble a luxury version of the micro car class. Peter Kronschnabl (the President of BMW India) said that BWM representatives have already started a research considering a potential new product launch.
On the other hand, Peter didn’t confirmed that the production will start namely in India, nobody had decided it yet. It is reported that BWM is going to remake and redevelop their classic Isetta bubble car. Among some possible changes are named hybrid technology implementation, or an all-electric city car creating.
Let me remind you, that the Isetta, is a legend, it is a highly successful microcar from the early 1950s, it is expected that it can be the closest rival of Tata Nano.
The price of a BMW micro car can vary around 2,000,000 Indian Rupees, or a bit over $49,000.
Hooray for me – I recognized the roundel and kidney-shaped grilles. Conceptually, I was surprised to see such a car by BMW. It’s great to see almost all of the high-powered vehicle manufacturers working toward alternative fuel sources.

Both Angel’s sources, and Rohit are correct. This is a photoshopped Nano, and Angel’s information is correct.
I am a member of the BMW Car Club of America, and receive their monthly publication, “Roundel.” The June 2008 issue (page 32) has a photoshopped image similar to the one above. It’s caption reads, “BORN-AGAIN ISETTA” The article goes on to explain that BMW is creating a “city car” to be powered by lithium-ion batteries. It is intended to be introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.
The article explained that several computer-renderings have been produced… “since no one yet knows how the little car will look.”
I wish you could see the computer renderings displayed, but I’m sure that within the few years, a more realistic photo rendering will exist.
I live in Tamil and I have not seen this one yet, I am not sure why? But I think such luxuries cars only hit big cities. Correct me if I am wrong.
