Pontiac G8 at the car show

You are still in love with the Pontiac Grand Prix? It is so pity to disappoint you, but it is better to forget about it, because a new generation is coming to us – the Pontiac G8.

The new car was presented at the Chicago Auto Show 2007. And, may be you already got used, that all recently mentioned cars in my posts were concept cars, but, a good news, this one will be available already next year, so start saving money. Although, manufacturers have no fears that this car will be unpopular, they are almost sure – it will be a new leader in the segment of such cars. They made a competitive car. By the way, the Pontiac G8 is the 1st  USA variant of GM’s new global architecture, introduced by GM’s Australian subsidiary (named Holden).

Design

The G8 is a prefect combination of new company style vision and familiar to all Pontiac features. So, the Pontiac G8 possesses a progressive styling package with fog lamps, unusual wheels design (19-inch aluminum wheels) and dual-port grille. The emphasize is made on a sport outlines of a car. An antenna is mounted in the roof. As for me I like taillamps, they look like small pieces of jewellery.

Interior

First of all, this car is made in accordance with the world standards. As to the interior, it is both comfortable and convenient, manufacturers tried to made it even more advanced at the same price. Everything is designed in such a way, a driver can easily control the car, see everything almost ideally. Driving this car, you got a feeling of driving a really luxurious car, a car made for a person, spending most of his or her time on wheels. Seats offer incredible support and comfort, even while long trips. No doubts, they are heated and made form genuine leather.

It's so true. The CVT (continuously variable transmission) operates smoothly with no jerking and having more speeds these days (6 as opposed to 3-5) means better gas mileage, too.
