Porsche Cayenne GTS in Frankfurt 2007

Hello, hello! Let’s move further with our reviews from the Frankfurt Auto Show 2007. It lasted only 2 days but preparations were exhausting and the results are still amazing. Tell me please your associations, when you hear the word and Porsche? Something really expensive, unusual and exotic? Yeah? Am I right? But, you know, I was really surprised to see a lot of Porsches in Ukraine, I used to believe that this country is a poor one.

Porsche Cayenne GTS

So, it was a small introduction, before unveiling the curtain of mystery about the New Porsche Cayenne S model called the GTS. First of all, let’s make it clear, new Porsche is just a sport version of the existing Cayenne S model. At the Frankfurt Motor Show it was given a name the GTS. So, what made this car a sport one? Namely, new driving aids: Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), anti-roll system, air and electronically-controlled suspension. Moreover, Cayenne lowers by 24mm (previously, it was exceptionally the prerogative of sport cars). It looks like a sport car made for a city driving. Price will start from £54,350 and this car will be available from February 2008 (mainly in the UK and in Ireland) and in Germany it will cost not less than 76,725 Euros.

Now, let’s turn our attention to the technical specifications of this car:

  • 4.8-litre V8 petrol engine;
  • direct fuel injection;
  • consumes 13.9 litres/100 km;
  • 6-speed manual transmission;
  • speed up from 0 to 100km/h in 6.1 sec;
  • 21-inch multi-spoke wheels;
  • 12-way adjustable sports seats (made from a mixture of leather and modern lining);
  • 2 new colours;
  • increased boot space;
  • is a SUV;

It's so true. The CVT (continuously variable transmission) operates smoothly with no jerking and having more speeds these days (6 as opposed to 3-5) means better gas mileage, too.
