The car is that expensive because the manufacturers decided to make all the details in-house. Well, it not only made this car cost a fortune it took them a couple of years to produce it.
I am really impressed, while such monsters as Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ferrari buy such things as gearboxes from other manufacturers, Lexus decided to make everything on its own. Sound really inspiring.
