I am extremely glad to announce that the Nissan GT-R has been officially named the 2009 International Car of the Year. The most interesting part  – the company won’t present its cars at the NAIAS this year. Let us find out what is so special about this car?

No doubts, the car looks fantastic – sleek, stylish and cool. Then its driving performance is above everything. Just one look at Nissan and you perfectly understand that it was developed taking into consideration Earth’s natural forces – the car offers exceptional tire grip and airflow. This model promises to be the most anticipated from all the Nissan-car range.

Once you peep under the bonnet, and find a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine sitting there, you will never ever forget this car. The Nissan GT-R comes with a six-speed dual clutch transmission, and the 0-60 mph acceleration in some 3.5 seconds.

It's so true. The CVT (continuously variable transmission) operates smoothly with no jerking and having more speeds these days (6 as opposed to 3-5) means better gas mileage, too.
