You still believe that a modern, safe, maneuver, rather powerful and inexpensive car is still a myth? You are not right. Frankfurt Auto Show 2007 has changed everything and Toyota presented a car, whose motto is: “Think small!” The new Toyota IQ will hit the markets of such countries as: Russia, Brazil and China. Actually, I came across this car, while looking at the results of the Frankfurt Show and I liked the review of John Neff, so I had a closer look at this car.

Toyota IQ is a tiny car, that’s why it will be ideal for crowded big city roads, it will give additional advantages to its owner, thus, he or she will be able to park it everywhere (it is almost impossible not to find a place for such a small car), moreover this car is easy to drive, have 4 seats (3+1 seater “iQ concept” ) as any other car, will consume less fuel and won’t pollute the environment. I think, such cars (also, Volkswagen Up!) will flood big cities within the next decade.

So, new Toyota is only 2.98 mm long, if you are an owner of Toyota Yaris and you will happen to open the door of IQ concept Toyota car, you will see no difference! They are like too drops of water! It was created at the Toyota’s European design studio (in France). It is designed in accordance with the new Toyota philosophy “vibrant clarity”: it has everything a modern city dweller can need: bright appearance, maneuverability, functions, enough space and even more – it is a green car, ecologically friendly.

Nowadays, Toyota IQ can be named the smallest 4-seat passenger car (there are seats for 3 adults and one child). In a normal condition, a driver and a passenger are sitting side by side, but if to move their seats further forward, there will appear an extra space for 1 more adult and a child. It has a panoramic glass sunroof, as for me, I think it looks wonderful during a day time, but at nights it might look a little gloomy (I mean interior of the car). You know, I would like to drive in such a car especially when it rains, just imagine, you are in the center of rain and absolutely dry.

But, it was my own dreams, let’s better specify when this tiny car hit global markets. According to the official data, in 2009.

If to have a closer look at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2007, it is possible to notice, that each company decided to be so ecologically correct and environmentally friendly, that it is even difficult to believe and sometimes sounds too good to be truth!

Citroen has made a new car, that is a combination of nature protection and economy. Citroen C-Cactus, a very strange name to a car, but it is metaphoric, this car is an embodiment of the economize petrol consuming, so it needs as much fuel, as the cactus needs water. If to be precise, new Citroen needs 3.4 L of fuel for 100 km. And the number of emissions in the atmosphere is fantastic! In a good sense of this word! It is as minimal as possible: 78g/kg of carbon dioxide. This car is focused on essential values, on comfort and ergonomics.

So, as we already know, this car is made in accordance with 2 principles: economy and ecological friendliness. The first one was described below and the second one will be viewed below. New Citroen consists of 200 parts. Any other conventional car has not less than 450 parts. Another plus to this car – its price – $25,000. Rather cheap, taking into consideration the whole advantages of the car!

Let’s go forward, both car interior and exterior and each detail are thought-over. Some functions were united, some parts removed, all these gave additional comfort to the car.

New Citroen C-Cactus can be proud of cheerful, modern, bold, bright and attractive design. It conveys the simplicity of form, at the same time being a powerful one. By the way, there were made some interesting peculiarities in interior designing, namely:

boot space became much larger: 1100 liters;

there is no dashboard (instead of it new Citroen C-Cactus has a fixed hub of the steering wheel);

presence of modular stowage system;

modern audio system;

panoramic glass roof;

cruise control;

there is a simple sliding window opening mechanism in this car;

possesses highly-comfortable seats;

Some other interesting features of Citroen C-Cactus:

Almost all the materials it is made from are recycable;

While driving in city it can be named ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle);

Weighs only 1,306 kg;

Top speed – 150 kph;

Michelin has developed special low-profile tyres for the Citroen;

Bold interior design with an apple images;

Air conditioning with automatic temperature control;

Electric handbrake;

Touch screen navigation system;

Made on C4 platform.
