1. Volkswagen Beetle CabrioletFunny car? May be. Driving performances and speed is not great? May be. When the hood is up – it is almost impossible to view something? May be to someone. It is just talks, you have never been driving in this car. It has nothing in common neither with huge and clumsy Hummers nor with exquisite and elegant Maybach’s and Bugatti’s. It is cute and friendly, has a lot of safety features and a convertible hood.

   The best and quickest model costs not more than $20 000. The 2.0-litre engine (but if you adore high speed and can forget about fast acceleration, so, choose a 1.6 engine). The best advantage – there is no noise in this car, insulation is rather decent. Each part and detail in the car is tested and reliable, yet funky. There is enough space for front seat passengers and those sitting behind will be in relative comfort.

   

2. Renault Clio (Hatchback 2.0 Renaultsport 197 3dr)

   It is a small, practical, rather speedy car. Clio possesses the 2.0-litre engine and a rather dull steering wheel. A top speed is 130mph. The ride can be named just smooth. But, be ready, it is not as cheap as it used to be, now price of this car is something like Mini Cooper or somewhere about. In Euro NCAP crash tests the Clio gained 5 stars and can be proud of highly reliable brakes, anti-lock control, stable and balanced driving, airbags etc. The car looks stylish, sophisticated and smart. The Clio is a very spacious car with a good boot, air-conditioning system electric windows, speed limiter and cruise control.

   

3. Mazda MX-5

   A dream of any lady – cool, bold, sporty, bright and speedy. It looks more like a foreigner or a visitor from another land. It is reported to be a  bit noisy, but it is nothing in comparison to its beauty and glamorous appearing. Driving in this car is very comfortable: no shakes, no trembling… The convertible roof is fixed very well and draughts can’t be perceived. If you want to buy it, it is no use to wait for price lowering. Why? Because this car is a thought-over one and during the last 3 years, its price doesn’t go down significantly. There are 2 front and side airbags, immobilizer etc. Some models even possess leather upholstery, alloy wheels, aluminum pedals.

   

4. Ford Fiesta

   It is not so glamorous as the previous 3 models, but its so spacious, so reliable and has excellent driving performance.  Also, the price is not so high and in it you will be just a woman, not a woman-vampire or a woman-tigress, but just a gentle and loving one. But, sometimes, it can be too noisy. It is a perfect car for city driving, because while on highway, you can notice that almost each can car run quicker than yours Fiesta. The handling is amazing, the steering is rather sharp, standard airbags, brakes with anti-lock, rear spoiler, front fog lights, electric front windows etc. The car is practical and destined for everyday driving.

   

5. Lexus RX 330

   It is the only one SUV in this list. Lexus RX 330 is a really luxurious car with a new 3.3-liter V6. It has a very aggressive character, more power and visual altitude. But some features are the same: smooth driving, amazing interior of the car, incredible quality and reputation. Again, the car is practical and is not capable of showing some special tricks on the road. The car is based on the Toyota Camry platform, possesses: automatic climate control, CD player, leather seating, a Mark Levinson audio system, cruise control etc.

You still believe that a modern, safe, maneuver, rather powerful and inexpensive car is still a myth? You are not right. Frankfurt Auto Show 2007 has changed everything and Toyota presented a car, whose motto is: “Think small!” The new Toyota IQ will hit the markets of such countries as: Russia, Brazil and China. Actually, I came across this car, while looking at the results of the Frankfurt Show and I liked the review of John Neff, so I had a closer look at this car.

Toyota IQ is a tiny car, that’s why it will be ideal for crowded big city roads, it will give additional advantages to its owner, thus, he or she will be able to park it everywhere (it is almost impossible not to find a place for such a small car), moreover this car is easy to drive, have 4 seats (3+1 seater “iQ concept” ) as any other car, will consume less fuel and won’t pollute the environment. I think, such cars (also, Volkswagen Up!) will flood big cities within the next decade.

So, new Toyota is only 2.98 mm long, if you are an owner of Toyota Yaris and you will happen to open the door of IQ concept Toyota car, you will see no difference! They are like too drops of water! It was created at the Toyota’s European design studio (in France). It is designed in accordance with the new Toyota philosophy “vibrant clarity”: it has everything a modern city dweller can need: bright appearance, maneuverability, functions, enough space and even more – it is a green car, ecologically friendly.

Nowadays, Toyota IQ can be named the smallest 4-seat passenger car (there are seats for 3 adults and one child). In a normal condition, a driver and a passenger are sitting side by side, but if to move their seats further forward, there will appear an extra space for 1 more adult and a child. It has a panoramic glass sunroof, as for me, I think it looks wonderful during a day time, but at nights it might look a little gloomy (I mean interior of the car). You know, I would like to drive in such a car especially when it rains, just imagine, you are in the center of rain and absolutely dry.

But, it was my own dreams, let’s better specify when this tiny car hit global markets. According to the official data, in 2009.

For the first time, Toyota Yaris was presented to public in 1999. That year Yaris gained a lot of awards: “European Car of the Year”, “Japan Car of the Year” and since more than 1.2 million of these cars were sold. Hence, it is the only car, which achieved world’s love and acknowledgment during such a short period of time. On the threshold to new Millennium one more award was given to it “The Safest Car of the Year”. In 2003 this car was renovated and its constructors focused on 3 key moments:

CAPACITY. Perfect technical characteristics, convenient interior and security features. Also, a great deal of attention was paid to durability and in-service life.

DESIGN. The level of elegance became significantly higher. The level of noises and vibration is reduced because of advanced transmission.

DETAILS. This model is only a new version of the previous one and so its designers decided to make emphasize on details, thus, people will feel – they own a completely another car.

Main features of Toyota Yaris:

Toyota Yaris has replaced another car named the Echo. Nowadays, it is the best-selling car in Europe. Yaris is a 3-door hatchback and 4-door sedan. Its target market namely young buyers, especially girls! Yaris will have a 1.5-liter, 106 horsepower 4-cylinder engine.
